What Are Cataracts?

A cataract occurs when the natural lens of your eye becomes cloudy or opaque. This cloudiness prevents light from passing clearly through the lens, resulting in blurred or dim vision. Cataracts typically develop slowly and can affect one or both eyes. While aging is the most common cause, cataracts can also result from injury, certain medications, or medical conditions like diabetes.

Symptoms of Cataracts
  • Blurred or cloudy vision

  • Increased sensitivity to light and glare

  • Difficulty seeing at night or in low light

  • Colors appearing faded or yellowed

  • Double vision in one eye

  • Frequent changes in eyeglass prescription

Advanced Surgical Techniques

Our experienced surgeons use phacoemulsification, the most advanced cataract surgery technique available. This minimally invasive procedure uses ultrasonic energy to break up the clouded lens, which is then gently removed and replaced with a clear artificial lens. The procedure is typically performed on an outpatient basis and takes about 15-20 minutes per eye.

Premium Intraocular Lens Options

We offer a variety of premium IOL options to address your specific vision needs, including multifocal lenses for near and distance vision, toric lenses for astigmatism correction, and accommodating lenses that can adjust focus like your natural lens.
