Dr. Powell earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University-Bloomington and completed his medical education at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda Maryland, commissioning as a Captain in the United States Air Force. He went on to complete his internship at Wright-State University, followed by several tours as a general medical officer in family practice and flight medicine for the USAF. Dr. Powell completed his ophthalmology residency in San Antonio Texas, graduating as chief resident of the Department of Defense’s largest ophthalmic residency program.

Dr. Powell’s clinical interests include cataract management with advanced lens technologies, refractive surgery, and comprehensive ophthalmology.
