
Carter Tisdale, M.D.
Dr. Carter Tisdale is a board-certified ophthalmologist and active-duty U.S. Air Force physician at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. He performs cataract surgery and eyelid procedures for military retirees and dependents on base and enjoys the art of tailoring each surgery to the individual patient. Additionally, he is passionate about freeing active-duty service members from glasses and contact lenses through laser vision correction procedures such as LASIK, PRK, SMILE, and ICL surgery.
Originally from Alabama and Tennessee, Dr. Tisdale earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a Minor in Spanish from Auburn University. He completed his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine before commissioning into the U.S. Air Force in 2013. As a Flight Surgeon, he served in Combat Search and Rescue operations in Las Vegas, NV, and supported deployments across the Middle East in 2019 and 2020, delivering critical care to aircrew members and rescue teams.
Dr. Tisdale completed his ophthalmology residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (Brooke Army Medical Center and Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center), where he served as Chief Resident.
Dedicated to global outreach, Dr. Tisdale has participated in multiple medical missions to deliver sight-restoring cataract surgery in underserved communities throughout Africa, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.
