
Carly Rose, O.D., FAAO
Dr. Carly Rose is a distinguished optometrist who has an unwavering dedication to understanding the complex disease of dry eye, as well as investing in cutting-edge research has earned her widespread recognition in the industry as a leader in dry eye diagnosis and treatment, Her passion for dry eye research stemmed from observing the increasing number of patients with this painful and life-changing condition, as well as suffering from the disease as a dry eye patient herself. She has made it her mission to provide the most effective and advanced treatments available, and her patients have benefited greatly from her expertise.
Dr. Rose is a native of the Greater Cincinnati area, and she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Northern Kentucky University. After graduating, she pursued her optometry studies in Chicago and completed a year-long residency at the Cincinnati VAMC Eye Clinic. Her commitment to excellence and patient care led her to become a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Rose is a member of several prestigious optometric associations, including the American Optometric Association, the Ohio Optometric Association, and the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Rose also earned recognition as one of Newsweek’s America’s Best Eye Doctors for the year 2022, the Theia Awards of Excellence
winner in 2024, and an American Optometric Association President's Award in 2025.
Dr. Rose has owned and operated two outstanding private practices, launched a primary care residency, and pioneered implementation of cutting-edge technology between patient care. She also lectures on the many facets of dry eye to colleagues around the globe. She is a key opinion leader for many revolutionary technology and pharmaceutical industries, as well as sits on various medical advisory boards nationally and locally.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Rose is an avid foodie who enjoys exploring new culinary experiences. Her passion for the diverse cuisines of Chicago inspired her to immerse herself in the city’s vibrant food scene during her years of study there. Since moving back to Cincinnati in 2013, she has continued to explore the city through a tourist lens, adventuring through the scenic local outdoors, historical tours, and wonderful arts Ohio has to offer between her daughter’s busy sports schedule!
